I didn’t, however, begin looking into Sasquatch activity again until 1987 because it took me awhile to get settled into the area. That’s when I met and became involved with Alice Nicholson, who had re-located to Vancouver at approximately the same time that I had moved there. We spent a lot of time together, learning about our adopted home area. One evening while we were talking, she asked me if I had any hobbies. While she thought it was nice that I spent so much time with her and her children, she thought that there surely must be something I enjoyed doing for myself.

I hadn’t ever spoken to her about the subject of Sasquatch, and I thought it would be best to wait and see how she felt about it or bring it up at an appropriate time. When she asked me about hobbies, I felt that time had arrived. “Well,” I said, “I do have something I have been involved with for some time now, but you might think it’s a bit strange.” Then I explained to her the things I had seen over the past years. I talked about knowing some of the world’s most prominent participants in the issue, and I discovered that Alice was very interested in the subject and enthusiastic about me becoming actively involved again. I let her know that I didn’t even know where to begin in this region, and she suggested that I make a flyer asking for information from anyone who had ever seen anything that might be evidence of Sasquatch. I did just that, and Alice’s 11-year old son, Joshua, and his friend, David, rode their bicycles around the part of Vancouver where we lived, placing the flyers on windshields of parked cars.

I didn’t receive many responses to the flyers, but the ones I did receive were very interesting. The first person who contacted me was the editor of the Post Record, a newspaper from the nearby town of Camas, Washington. He had been in the office of the Clark County sheriff when a deputy gave him a flyer that was placed on the windshield of his patrol car.

The editor, Kevin Hardin, was interested and wrote to me asking if we could meet and talk. I telephoned Mr. Hardin and arranged for him to come to my house. We talked for a long time. He, too, had a long-term interest in the subject of the Sasquatch. He wanted to write an article about me, which I agreed to, but I didn’t know if there was anything interesting enough about me for other people to want to read.

After we talked, he said that he would like to go ahead with an article, and I agreed. He also asked me to update him if I found additional evidence because he wanted to follow my work with additional articles for his newspaper. I saw no harm in this at the time, so I agreed. In fact,
